West End Festival Exhibition
Summer in Glasgow gets underway at the West End Festival and a new solo exhibition by artist Alison Cowan is set to bring colour and texture into the space at Christo’s.
Alison Cowan turns 60 this year and she has titled her exhibition ‘Landmarks’ to signify where she is within her journey as an artist.
This Glasgow painter is recognised for her bold use of the palette knife to create layers of colour andtexture, no gentle brush strokes visible. “I plan to include some surprises in this show with maybe alandmark or two included in the paintings,” says Alison.
Alison has worked with Christo’s gallery for many years now and has built up an established fan base ofher work. This popular West End gallery is known for encouraging talented Scottish artists and its changing exhibitions attracting interest from locals and visitors to the city.
I have watched Alison’s journey and her work continues to develop and surprise the viewer. I am in awe of her ability to stir emotions and make you feel uplifted when viewing her work. We are delighted to be hosting her latest exhibition and it will mark a great start to the summer months.
